Details
The GPIO Assist boards are designed to simplify the process of wiring a Game Boy Zero while minimizing the amount of space required inside the build. They can also significantly reduce the cost and time it takes to assemble your device. The board sits flush against the back of the Pi Zero W. If you position the board so that the Micro SD slot faces the Contrast port, the wires connecting the button board only need to be about an inch long.

The Pro GPIO Assist board enables even easier wiring than the Basic board due to the inclusion of a 4-port USB hub and a C-Media 102S+ audio chip, which sounds even better than filtered PWM audio and includes a built-in amplifier. Like the Basic board, the Pro board supports both composite and SPI screens, as well as an ADS1015 or 1115 for safe shutdown functionality. If you wish to use an analog stick in your build, it will need to be wired using a separate microcontroller, such as a Teensy or ProMicro.
